Good oral hygiene starts with diet

Sugar is the number 1 enemy of teeth. Consumption of sugar throughout the day promotes the accumulation of dental plaque and the proliferation of bacteria. This is why you should avoid sugary snacks between meals and replace them without hesitation with fresh fruits and vegetables as well as mineral water. Bread, butter, cheese, eggs and milk are also allowed as snacks. To allow us a little sweet treat from time to time, the food industry also manufactures sweets that pose little – if any – risk to our teeth. These products bear a red pictogram representing a little man in the shape of a tooth. They are safe for teeth because they do not contain sugar and their sweeteners do not promote the formation of dental plaque.
